This Wiki has been created for preservice and inservice teachers as well as media specialists, administrators and anyone else interested in the integration of technology in k-12 education. The purpose of this Wiki is to provide a dynamic and collaboratively created source of content focused on educational technology and it's use in a variety of k-12 settings. Please feel free to contribute to this Wiki by sharing your ideas and experiences surrounding educational technology. In order to join the site you just need to click on the "Join This Space" link located below the UM logo. If you don't already have a Wikispace account you will be prompted to create one. To keep up with newly added content you can click on the "notify me" tab at the top of any page. You have the option to monitor individual pages or the entire site by selecting the space-wide notification option. You can also get the feed for this site by clicking any of the buttons along the left navigation panel. If you are a teacher and would like to sign-up for an account you can go to http://www.wikispaces.com/site/for/teachers100K. There is a video on the Video Tutorials page that explains the sign-up process of teachers as well.

My name is Stein Brunvand and I created this wiki. I'm an Associate Professor of Education in the College of Education, Health and Human Services at the University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-D) and also the coordinator of our online Masters of Arts in Educational Technology program at UM-D.   • Video Tutorials: Check out this page if you want to see some different video tutorials on how to use a variety of technologies.
  • Sandbox: This is a great page to use if you just want to practice working and editing in a Wiki environment.

Specific Tools

There are a variety of specific tools and technologies highlighted throughout this Wiki and you can find many of them listed along the left navigation panel. On each of the individual "tool" pages you will find a brief overview and some thoughts and ideas about how that particular tool might be used in a k-12 classroom. In addition, each tool has a Lesson Plan page where you can find lesson plan ideas for using that specific tool. These lesson plans were created by the many different members of this wiki and are shared here for you to review, adapt and use as you see fit in your own classroom.
